On January 23th, Aliens allied with the Dark Warriors.
This alliance got celebrated with a game of Freeze Dance on January 24th, on Club Penguin Battleground, where both armies got to play a fun game together, and get to know each other better (and everyone got to enjoy BP's playlist, kinda full of bops).
My first interaction with Dark Warriors was probably during the tournament October Horrors, when they asked us on the battlefield when we would ally : i started to look at them from that moment.
It took us a bit of reflection, to get to ally : we need our alliances to be meaningful, and our discussions with Dark Warriors' leadership were all lovely, so we just waited to see if their community would make sense with ours.
When the alliance got confirmed, we all decided that an event would be the nicest way to bring it to our communities, so we also had to wait for a date that would be nice to everyone : January 24th it was.
I got the chance to interview Dark Warriors leadership about the alliance, so im letting yall with a little glimpse of what they think about it!
1. Who came first with the idea of an alliance, and why?
Salah : The idea of an alliance came about collectively during our discussions, as Aliens immediately stood out as a potential close ally, aligning with us naturally, much like planets in orbit. We all shared the same thought that an alliance with Aliens would be something special, especially because of the strong synergy between darkness and space. Coolguy played a key role by taking the initiative to reach out and explore the possibility, and we truly appreciated how kind and eager the Aliens were to form an alliance with us.
Midnight : I think the idea of this alliance came when discussing potential allies when we returned last year. Aliens seem like a cool army to ally with and would have made a great ally.
Subzero : It was a collective hope, spearheaded by Coolguy, and finally pieced together not long ago. Both armies seem to share the same values and have fostered a specific outlook on the community and our armies which reside within the community.
Coolguy : So, I floated the idea of an aliens alliance and pushed that because I heavily respect the work of the Aliens leadership and think that our two armies would make great allies. We're both loyal to those who are loyal to us and are armies which have a past yet were revived from scratch.
2. How long have you guys been talking about it ?
Salah : The discussions began shortly after the revival. When we started considering potential allies, Aliens naturally stood out for being one of the kindest and most welcoming communities in the Club Penguin Army scene, and the conversation naturally grew from there.
Midnight : I think the idea of an alliance came near our revival though recently Coolguy reached out for a potential alliance & everyone in DW was happy about the idea.
Subzero : For as long as I can remember, when dark warriors first opened it seemed to be the impossible, fast forward in time and here we are, defying the odds together.
Coolguy : We've been talking about it for quite a while now, I think the first time we spoke about it was a few months after opening, as said in our alliance creation post. We didn't just accept any alliances and we wanted to bring names from all leaders to discuss who would be right for us and Aliens were a heavy feature of that discussion. Although, Aliens don't ally with just anybody so of course we knew that it could've been a much different outcome.
3. What are your hopes towards this alliance? Do you have any wishes about it?
Salah : My hope is that with the Dark Galactic alliance established, not only can both communities flourish and grow stronger, but also create special memories together through several collaborative events, shared moments, and lasting friendships.
Midnight : I hope we can become stronger together & maybe host more joint events together in the future.
Subzero : I think it’s safe to say for many of us, our wishes have come true! But no, more seriously speaking I would say to just keep it simple and continue as we are but rather together, hand in hand. We value our allies highly and will do what we can, when we can, however we possibly can, to be there for the Aliens.
Coolguy : I hope that this alliance goes the distance. In cpa, there have been alliances like iw + rpf, acp + HF etc but I think DW + Aliens has the potential to be not only remembered but maintained and successful. It isn't about sizes, power, teaming up on any particular army - it's about the friendship and alliance of our two armies who have come from similar backgrounds with communities which we aim to keep safe and much more.
4. How can this alliance can bring change in both the communities?
Salah : Through this alliance, our combined efforts can introduce fresh ideas and unique initiatives that leave a positive mark on the Club Penguin Army community. By working together, we can create experiences and collaborations that stand out, inspire others, and help shape a stronger, more connected community overall.
Midnight : This alliance can bring change in both communities as we can introduce new ideas to one another. Our members really enjoyed our joint event and in DW, we haven't really done anything like that. We're looking to find ways to have more fun events now.
Subzero : Good question, I’m very excited to see what we can produce and the example we will set for everyone watching and wanting to be apart of this. I believe the future holds special moments for the history of both armies and the community we’re in.
Coolguy : When you look at the historic alliances between armies, there have been many different ways alliances have formed but most end up getting broken. Whilst there were intentions, Aliens and Dark Warriors have come together naturally and I think that the natural bond between the two armies can be a great thing and it means that we will always be side by side because we have forged this connection not from war or hardships but from a genuine connection, respect and loyalty. Much like the event which saw us announce our alliance, we have the ability to change the dynamics of an alliance and give it the meaning which, over the years, it may have lost. After all, together we are stronger and we can learn from each other.
